Technivorm has been hand making coffee makers since 1964.  The steep price is reflective of the build quality of these brewers.  Consistently providing brew water temperatures around 200F, these brewers make an excellent cup of coffee in a very fast 6 minute brew cycle.  The thermal carafe supplied has the new brew through lid and keeps the coffee hot as you work your way through a pot.

One of my favorite features is the simple switch on the bottom of the filter holder.  When closed, it allows you to fully saturate the coffee grounds before you allow the brew water to continue flowing through it into the carafe.
